Romy Côté -

Romy Côté, also known as Womby, started out as a ballet dancer at the tender age of 3. However, its rigid stucture made her abandon the practice at 16, leaving her with an artistic void. On a spontaneous impulse, she embarked on a new creative path, focusing on drawing and graphic design in Cegep. Although the academic framework didn’t resonate with Romy, it compelled her to further explore different mediums and to teach herself 2D animation and 3D modelling. From Victoriaville and now based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, Womby creates glossy colorful digital characters and landscapes that speak of existential themes. By consuming a myriade of content simultaneously accompanied by the occasional joint, she utilizes her ADHD as a creative and effective approach to creating playful and psychedelic imagery that capture a naive perspective on more morose subject matter.
