Aymerick’s work and curation embodies “anti-style”, using the foundations of graffiti as a portal to an artistic sphere that uplifts marginal space, and integrates aspects of both counterculture and personal experience in environments where marginal art and artists are conventionally overlooked. In an attempt to shift the traditional Eurocentric lens that is applied to the analysis and curation of art, Aymerick’s work integrates notions of culture and racial identity into mediums that have been predominantly co-opted by spaces of privilege. His stance and point of views illustrate not only difference, but the pursuit for progress.
