Photography is for Antoine Giroux (Byrsd), an art form that forces you to contemplate in a world where innocence and the purity of youth is tinted by violence, consumption and voyeurism. His work is extremely sentimental and personal, truly exploring the beauty in the banal and all things we overlook. He has released his first photographic book "I Wish You Could Look Through Me", which is an invitation to browse his phone photo gallery, that is for him, a raw documentation of life. It reveals his most intimate moments. Using personnal archives and reappropriating them through time, Antoine creates new meaning to lost memories by imposing his current emotions and vision. Strong presence of light, textures and visual noise are recurring elements in his pratice.
